Oh, yes, when I am in the midst of the redirection, I often find myself hating the lessons. But, in hindsight, I know that the deepest pit offers the greatest treasure. Do I enjoy the pit? Absolutely not. But, as a servant of Christ, I want to be solely His. So in tune with HIM that I can help others find their music. Hmmm, I am going to dig a little deeper into that analogy. Seems the Lord has something to say. Perhaps the redirection helps fine tune the song. I remember in high school band, how long my dear band director would take to tune the instruments. He had a special machine that tuned each one of our instruments. It seemed to take forever, but the end result was complete unity. No flat notes. No sharp notes. A perfectly tuned concert band. Sherri, isn't it good to know we can trust the Master Conductor? I will rest in that as I close out this week. Love and Blessings, dearest friend.

Rejection is not always a sign of failure.....except maybe on the part of the one who did the rejecting! (and then, comes regret!)

Make a rejection a triumph over what might have been a huge mistake. Redirection can be opportunity for an even bigger victory!

This all has wonderful lessons for the young girl who is struggling with her identity. Hmmmm....sounds like a chapter that needs to be written, huh?

The power of prayer is my weapon of choice. God goes before and aft, He knows the beginning from the end. He is decisive in His defense of His people. No weapon formed against us will prosper.

You are trumpeting my current battle cry.

Oh, Meredith! So powerful. I feel the same way. Now, when I see a homeless man or woman, even here in Hampton Roads, I feel I can say, "If you could write something on the other side of your cardboard sign, what would it be? Anything at all." It gives me a bridge to walk over and approach them. I love your sign. . . the key being "CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME." He is OUR redeemer! Praise HIS name! HUGS, Janell

WOW! Janell, here in central California, there are SO many homeless. Every major intersection and every public place is a home to many drifters, all carrying their signs. Most are honest: "Need money, will spend on booze" but usually they say "Anything helps." Its as common here as ducks in a lake. I think this exercise would REALLY hit home with the Christians here and I plan to share this with the youth pastor I work with and see if we can't get at least the high schoolers to do it. Like everyone else I was deeply moved and new right away what my sign should read:

"Slave to my fears, anger, and rage...

FREEDOM in Christ who strengthens me."

Love you!

Great inspiration, as always. I wanted to add a great resource for injecting fire into your prayer life: Kay Arthur's "Learning to Pray in 28 Days" is a tremendous asset for anyone seeking to pray more effectivly. Love you, Janell, for your faith and encouragement

Oh, I know, but a girl can dream!
I will be praying for you, especially these next months of crucial political decisions. You are in the midst of it all because GOD called you there. You know that. Lean hard on Him. . .I know you do (Song of Solomon 8:5). BLESSINGS, Janell

Honey, I won't be in that club in Heaven! Those women will have a private club of their own! :)

Some of the unrest is all the political environment. We are in the thick of it, and honestly, I am concerned for our country in a way that I have never felt before. Pray, pray, pray for what we do.

I sure wish I still had some FB Meyer books. I lost mine in the hurricane and haven't seen any in years in the bookstores. Those were some of the best bios of Biblical heroes of the faith.

Again, pray for us, please. And, as you can imagine, I am exhausted today, and today has enough cares of its' own!

Because He loved us first,
Sherri
